We Appreciate Our Veterinary Technicians!

This week, October 13-19, is National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, and we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on our incredible team here at Wareham Animal Hospital. While we deeply appreciate the hard work of our veterinary technicians and entire staff year-round, this week gives us the perfect opportunity to share with you just how vital veterinary technicians are to the care of your beloved pets.

We’re proud to say that all of our veterinary technicians have been certified through the state of Massachusetts, holding the title of Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). Becoming a CVT is no small feat—it requires formal education and extensive training, followed by state certification. But that’s not where it ends! Veterinary technicians keep their certification up to date by completing continuing education in veterinary medicine every year, ensuring they stay at the forefront of animal healthcare.

What exactly does a veterinary technician do? While they do get to snuggle pets (and love every minute of it), their role is much more than that! Veterinary technicians perform a wide array of essential medical tasks, from diagnostics like radiographs and blood work to administering medications and life-saving treatments. They also play a critical role in safely anesthetizing pets during surgery, monitoring their health throughout procedures, and ensuring they receive top-notch care every step of the way.

This week, we invite you to join us in celebrating our skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technicians: Gabby, CVT, Li, CVT, Amber, CVT, VTS(ECC), and Caitlin, CVT. Their dedication to our patients and their continued pursuit of excellence in veterinary medicine makes us proud to have them as part of the Wareham Animal Hospital team.

Thank you to our Veterinary Technicians for all that you do!
